If you’re learning to be a magician, you may be looking for some simple tricks to perform. Have you considered kids magic tricks? They’re good to start with, because they don’t require a lot of practice for you to master them, nor a lot of preparation.
You can find a lot of magic-kits that have easy-to-learn tricks, such as the Eggcup Trick, the Coin Vanishing Trick, and the Broken Pencil Trick. The kits usually include the apparatus needed to execute the trick.
Most kids magic tricks don’t require too much time to prepare. Just as an example, you only need two matchboxes (one of them empty) and a rubber band to perform the Empty Matchbox trick.
All you do to perform the matchbox trick is attach the filled box to your arm where your audience can’t see it, then hold the empty box in your hand while you shake your arm. Ask your audience how many matches are in the box; they’ll hear the matches shake, but their attention will be on the empty box!
Another great kids magic trick is the Wine into Water Trick. For this trick, you will need water, red food coloring, and bleaching powder.
You will first pour water into a clear glass and mix in some red food dye. The water will now resemble wine.
Add some bleaching powder to a separate glass. Now, dump the red “wine” into the other glass. Like magic, it turns clear! That’s the magic of bleach. But if there’s going to be any kids around, there needs to be strict adult supervision. Bleach is a dangerous chemical.
What if you can’t find a good magic kit? It’s a simple matter to perform kids magic tricks by using common household items. After all, you only need a pencil if you’re going to do the Rubber Pencil Trick.
You can make a pencil look rubbery. The trick is to wobble it while holding it loosely near the tip. A simple but fun illusion trick that kids love.
Remember, kids magic tricks are fun not just for kids, but for adults too. If you’re an adult who wants to pick up some magic tricks, it’s a great idea to start trying the easy ones first.
Performing kids magic tricks successfully to a crowd will help you get ready for more difficult tricks in front of a crowd.
