A Very Spiritual Tattoo

A tattoo is a very personal thing. Often we get them to feel connected to another person such as a lover or a family member or to associate ourselves with a cause, either that we are involved with or for which we feel an emotional or philosophical attraction. When you have an image become a permanent part of your body, in an emotional and spiritual sense, that image becomes part of you and stays by your side at all times.
One area of life many of us feel drawn to privately is the world of spiritual life and a deep inner desire to connect with the spiritual universe that is beyond the five senses. And it seems as though that spiritual universe has given us an image that serves to help us make that connection and that image is the angle. Maybe the fact that many of us feel that urge to connect to the eternal explains by angels are common images in movies, art and television because many people want to be “touched by an angel” even if they are not religious in any organized way.
This connection may be that people just like having the image of an angel near them sometimes. Angels, as we have been taught, are spiritual creatures whose entire job is to communicate to us from the spiritual world, from that force we sometimes call “God”. But angels get some important jobs including guarding over us both physically and spiritually such as when we are asleep.
So by using the image of an angel as one of your tattoos, you are taking that spiritual connection to the next level. Even if the angel you use in your tattoo image is not one specific angel that has a name, that spiritual being opens up your spiritual life and becomes part of that inner part of you called your “soul” that only you understand and can navigate.
But an angel tattoo can do more than just be a reminder of the presence of angels nearby when you need to know that. It can also be a reminder of your desire to be more spiritual and to think about big “religious” ideas and about the situation with your soul and your eternal well being. We all have good intentions to be more responsible about this side of life but life has a tendency to steal our time. But if your angel tattoo is on your arm or wrist or somewhere visible to you, she can gently remind you to take time for your soul and always be there to serve as that reminder that this part of you is important.
The universal hunger for answers to spiritual questions may be one reason angel tattoos are quite popular. When you start looking for the angel tattoo pattern that fits your feeling about these spiritual creatures, the variety is large. You can find sweet peaceful angels, strong powerful archangels and even warrior angels who can live in that tattoo and defend your soul against spiritual evil.
Sometimes a reason that is just as strong for people to enjoy an angel tattoo is because it is a sweet and poetic way to remind ourselves of someone we care about who may have crossed over into that spiritual world already. The angel in the tattoo can represent the real angel who may be serving as that spiritual connection you often feel with the departed loved one. The angel can be there to comfort you that while you may miss that dear one, you will see him or her in another life and the angel will be there to help make that happen.
Obviously there are a lot of reasons for getting a tattoo that are not spiritual. And if you also want to get a tattoo that is attractive and pretty cool looking, you might be able to find an angel tattoo pattern that meets all of your requirements. Not only that, because your angel tattoo speaks of your spiritual side, it can serve to bring you together with others who have an interest in spiritual things. In doing so, the angel is doing her job of enabling communication between you and “God” and in bringing people together in spiritual harmony too. That’s a pretty hard working angel.
